Vliv vybraných ukazatelů chovného prostředí na úroveň welfare dojeného skotu
JAROLÍMKOVÁ, Alžběta
The diploma focuses on an assessment of welfare, technology and technological systems related to an efficiency and health condition of dairy cattle in selected farms in the Czech republic. Farming and veterinary database had been used in the process of compiling the diploma content; and screening methods to assess a welfare level in dairy cows herds. Stables for dairy cows must be in a dispositional, technical and operational compliance with the applied farm technology, in order to keep air circulation, dustiness, temperature and relative air humidity, gas concentration, lighting and noise levels within the safe limits. Any of the farm technological systems must not affect health condition and well-being of animals. Environment, providing animals conditions allowing natural behavior, rest and intake of food and water, creates a foundation for sustaining an appropriate welfare level of cattle as a significant prerequisite for reaching optimal productional a reproductional indicators. Even though there was no significant statistical difference documented (p >0,05) between monitored farms in selected indicators, an analysis of mutual dependency has been conducted between the environment level and some productional and reproductional indicators and health conditions of cattle.

Analysis of mastitis occurrence on chosen farm
Nutrition, Healt and Welfare of Big Cats bred in Private Famrs
Odehnalová, Kristýna ; Lukešová, Daniela (advisor) ; Pavel, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the big cats, which are included in the family Felidae. The main aim of this work was to evaluate differences in nutrition exotic animals kept in private farms in the Czech Republic and specimens in the wild and to determine the conditions of animal welfare and animal health protection. The literature search was the work dealt with the general characteristics, taxonomy and expansion of populations of CITES animals in the wild, the anatomy of the digestive tract and individual nutrients which should be administered feline type of ration to prevent their health problems. In the next part of the thesis analysed case studies from five different private farms in the Czech Republic. The results showed that the number of breeders of exotic big cats in the ration served raw pork and beef on the bone, with the addition of bio-feed (whole animals) to ensure efficient digestive process. However, due to lack of movement of such beasts in runs and poor nutrition ration, were demonstrated common symptoms of obesity and other different health problems for these felines. Their offspring were susceptible to various etiological agents, with subsequent symptoms of the disease, therefore it was necessary to enrich their ration sufficient amounts of vitamins and minerals. It can conclude that the breeders of exotic beasts in private farms should pay close attention to ensure a balanced diet and especially more space for movement and daily activities (enrichment) animals, which could lead to the provision of suitable breeding conditions and animal health.
Evaluation of the level comliance with the zoohygiene and selected indicators of welfare in agricultural operations
ŠVEC, Radim
This thesis focused on monitoring and analysing selected parameters of assessing the level of zoohygiene, comfort and welfare of breeding dairy cows housed in four monitored stable obejct. Survey, evaluation and registracion of data related to the following indicators; health status of hooves, the incidence of mastititis and reproductive performance, were performed. A reference group, wich was appropriately prepared by a local zootechnician, who knows the farm enviroment, was set to find the meeded data and they were then monitored with the help of evidence of zootechnical and veterinary records. The research has confirmed that problems with hooves and consequent lameness occours when several factors are not kept. Conversely, compliance and respecting the needs of diary cown bring very positive results. The claim that there is an increased incidence of mastitis in the grate, litter housing has been disproved.
